"Peter Powning: A Retrospective" opens Thursday, June 1 at the Tides Institute (43 Water Street). The exhibition features 23 works by renown New Brunswick visual artist, Peter Powning (https://www.powning.com/peter/) and showcases the diverse range of forms and materials in Powning’s art. Drawn from a larger Powning exhibition that was held at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in Fredericton, New Brunswick in the past year, the Powning works are on loan from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. In 2006, Powning received the Saidye Bronfman Award from the Canada Council for the Arts, the highest distinction for excellence in fine craft in Canada.

Gallery hours beginning June 1 are Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm. An accompanying catalogue of Powning's works is also available for purchase.
