The easternmost National Wildlife refuge in the Atlantic bird migrating flyway and home to one of the largest varieties of warblers in the United States. Numerous trails for hiking and walking with lookout points for the observation of wildlife and local plant species. The main office, located at the end of Headquarters Road, provides information and literature for the outdoor enthusiast. The annual Down East Spring Birding Festival includes birdwatching trips through this special area. Seasonal access for snowmobiles; seasonal birdwatching tours. Free admission.
