Marty Howbert is a steel sculptor who chooses rusty metal to create her pieces. You may view her seven and a half foot Flautist in front of the Eastport Art Center. The Peavey Memorial Library has three of her sculptures on display. The Maine Percent for Art Program awarded Marty a grant for a seven foot fusion bronze and steel sculpture, A Balance of Nature, which can be viewed at the Eastport Elementary School. Other sculptures can be viewed at her residence at 9 Mitchell Street in Eastport and other yards around town.
