Our community museum, founded in 1967, preserves and explores our island’s cultural and natural history with over 25 permanent exhibits. It houses 300+ birds from the Allan Moses Bird Collection. Other exhibits include geology, lighthouses, shipbuilding, ferries, fishing, shipwrecks, and folk art. A recently created spiral staircase exhibit of six murals features 129 species and explores the ecology of Bay of Fundy marine life. The Willa Cather exhibit highlights the Pulitzer-prize winning novelist’s summers spent on Grand Manan, while extensive outdoor boardwalk exhibits include island history, a lighthouse gazebo, a one-room schoolhouse, and pollinator gardens. Enjoy our seasonal exhibits with items form the collection, an annual art exhibit and our impressive line up of summer lectures and special events programming.
