Since its unlikely founding nearly twelve years ago, Washington County’s “From Away Downeast” has grown to be a regionally renowned ensemble performing the truly historic songs of Maine’s Revolutionary War Patriots, fishermen, seafarers, lumber woodsmen, river log drivers, shore folk, and village life. The group performs in many configurations, sometimes as a quintet, but more often as duets and solos. Chantey sings are periodically scheduled (get in touch for more info).
