Down East Spring Birding Festival occurs during spring migration and breeding season. Enjoy four days of self-guided explorations, guided hikes, boat tours and presentations by area experts and the natural beauty of Downeast Maine’s Cobscook Bay area, with the greatest variety of habitats on the East Coast, including boreal and northern hardwood forests, bogs, marshes, grassy and shrubby fields, streams and lakes, rugged headlands, extensive tidal flats and coastal islands. The festival was named one of the “Best Bird Fests” in 2011-2012 by the US Fish & Wildlife Service and an Editor’s Choice event by Yankee Magazine in 2014.
