Anne Johnston paints the coastal area of New Brunswick and Maine near her home. She paints with soft pastels on sanded pastel paper for a vivid color-rich view of the landscape, and oil paints with brush and painting knife for their rich and luminous texture.
“Though I have painted the local coastal landscape for many years I never run out of subject matter, nor tire of its beauty. I love the variety of ocean side cliffs and grassy fields, the changing colors of the seasons,” she writes.
“It is the natural world that continues to amaze and inspire me and sends me into the fields and down coastal roads.”
