The 2023 “DLLT Photo Contest” has officially begun! With its varied landscapes, abundant wildlife, local traditions, and colorful characters, there are many different subjects to be captured and immortalized on film. Show us your best photographs of the area! Rules and guidelines for the DLLT Photo Contest are listed below. All photos must be submitted by emailing photo@downeastlakes.org.

Join professional authors Dr. Gerard Collins and Janie Simpson in the lovely resort town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick, for a week-long, small group writing retreat. You'll have a private, ensuite room in a historic mansion, a separate writing studio for your exclusive use, and the award-winning Kingsbrae Garden at your doorstep. Retreats are May 14-21 and June 16-23, and include all breakfasts and three suppers, catered by a Kingsbrae Garden Café chef onsite.

Register now for Paddle Canada Beginner River Kayaking Course

Spend a beautiful spring weekend on the Magaguadavic River learning new skills, making new friends and having boat loads of fun. The Beginner River Kayak course is designed for participants with no paddling experience.

Head to the Eastern Charlotte Lions Club every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for some indoor walking starting at 5:30 pm. Bring your walking shoes, hang your coat and leave your boots in entryway. Enjoy a coffee and chatting with friends.

Membership $10/week plus bring a non perishable food item.

The St. George Royal Canadian Branch 38 holds weekly events and the community is invited. On Monday, TOPS is held at 6:00 pm; contact Jimmy at 755-6042 for Cribbage Monday Nights. On Tuesdays, doors open for BINGO at 5:00 pm; early bird game starts at 6:30 and the regular game is on at 7:00. Every Friday night is Seniors Cards party, call Jimmy for more info.
