Adults 55 and up are invited to utilize the flat, indoor walking space at the aquarium for a healthy and protected place to keep moving this fall. Walks will be held at the Fundy Discovery Aquarium on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8:30 to 10:00 am through December 15.

Preregistration is not required. Cost is $2 at the door, or members get in free.

Join TWIG (The Way It Grows) for a two hour online course in permaculture on December 1 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Learn: What is Permaculture? How can Permaculture be of importance in 2022? Gather all, both permies and non, landscapers, homeowners, gardeners, etc. and see what it's all about!

This is a class/chat on how we can incorporate aspects of permaculture in our daily life, doing our part for the health of the planet. Please join us for this online ZOOM class/chat. A slide presentation will guide us through the many topics of discussion. This is free and no registration is required. We will not allow later comers in the session, so join us early! Come to the Lubec Community Outreach Center on Mondays and Wednesdays evenings to get some hands-on instruction in ceramics with Gina Brown-Delnicki of Country by Design.

Sit and paint or classes are $5 a night; this does not include your bisque project, lighting kits, extra firing if needed, etc. There will be brushes to use, as well as others to purchase and information on where to buy more.

There are a limited number of seats available, so please contact Gina Brown-Delnick on Facebook if you are interested. These classes are adults only, but classes for children 10 and up may be starting later in the fall if there is enough interest.

Does your family love science and the ocean? Join Huntsman Marine for the exciting new Family Explorers program. Your small group will enjoy a guided tour with one of our knowledgeable interpreters, then enter the wet lab for an interactive, hands-on lab experience. Be delighted by the wonder in your children’s eyes as they hold a sea star, peer into a microscope, or test their hypothesis. Connect with your family in a whole new way during the Family Explorers program.

For the first class, November 19, students will be "Exploring the Deep". Build a deep-sea lander and discover more about animals that call the mysterious deep ocean home. Learn more about the program and register here.

The center will be designed for you and your family to walk comfortably through it as you enjoy the displays, listen to instrumental Christmas music, and walk under the Christmas lights.

Calais Lioness Christmas Parade

It's the most magical time of the year - the 24th Annual Lioness Christmas Parade is slated for Friday, December 3 at 6:00 pm. Kids will get to see Mrs. Claus as she treks the parade route with the Lioness Elves, and see the big man himself, Santa.

It's a great opportunity to shop locally as merchants all throughout town will be open with their Moonlight Madness sales and specials!
