You're invited to share in the 56th annual Passamaquoddy Days celebration at Sipayik! Vendor booths featuring a mixture of goods, a hand drumming competition, the Sipayik Pageant, social drumming, ceremonial dancing, and fireworks are just some of the offerings available.

Do you or someone you know benefit from art as a recovery/support tool for mental health/illness? Please share your art with us! (You do not have to be a professional/expert!) CMHA of New Brunswick is excited to host our 4th annual Art In Mind exhibit at Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre from November 10-19 and are accepting submissions by August 18.
Up to three original pieces can be submitted (as photographs or digital images of your work). Applications must include a brief (100 word) artist statement about how the creative process improves your well-being. Applications or questions should be sent to lisa.cheney@gnb.ca.
Find out more »Dastardly Dick’s: Dominic Noe exhibit
Dastardly Dick’s Wicked Good Coffee in Eastport is excited to display and sell the paintings of Dominic Noe. Aside from being an active artist in the local scene, Noe frequently volunteered at Stage East on and off stage and sat on the organization’s board from 2004-2008. A celebration of Noe’s life and work, the sale is currently on view and will run through the summer season. Proceeds will be donated to Stage East.
Stage East is a constituent group of Eastport Arts Center. More information about the group may be found at stageeast.org.

Sunbury Shores is now accepting applications to exhibit for the 2023 season! We are proud to host a diverse array of contemporary art exhibitions in our gallery spaces each year. Find the application here (due October 1).
Artists are also being sought for a Group Exhibition alongside "Goodnight Moon: a Rhythm, a Tempo", running October 1-29. Artwork should render a childlike sensibility - of wonderment, repetition, abstraction, amongst others - from an adult perspective. Apply here.
Find out more »Flash fiction event: “Scarecrows of Machias”
The Machias Arts Council will be hosting a flash fiction event featuring the works of Machias residents and surrounding communities. The theme will be “Scarecrows of Machias” and will run in parallel to the annual Scarecrow Contest hosted by the Machias Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.
Chosen stories will be promoted and published across multiple platforms, including online and in print and a prize will be awarded for “Best Story.” Local writers should submit their scarecrow-themed works of approximately 500 words to ACFlashFiction@gmail.com by October 16.

By the Sea, From the Sea at Grand Manan Museum
The exhibit "By the Sea, From the Sea" (featuring the work of 23 artists) is now on display at Grand Manan Museum. The exhibit will run through September 23; gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm.
The Grand Manan Museum has several permanent exhibits on display, including the Alan Moses Bird Gallery and the Dark Harbour Hermits. Find out more about upcoming programs here.

Art Exhibit in The Commons Lobby
Join the Cobscook Institute in celebration of the artists and craftspeople of our campus. With pyrography, ceramic, paintings and drawings there is something for everyone. Stop by for our opening on July 1 from 4-6 pm to kick off your weekend!
All year-round our Pottery Studio hosts an incredible assortment of artists and craftspeople in their creative process and this June our Project Room has been bustling with creativity. This exhibit is a moment to pause and enjoy all the creativity on our campus.

St. George Grief Support Group
There will be an ongoing monthly grief support group in St. George at St. Mark's Anglican Church/Community Hub (28 Main St.) starting on July 19 and running from 1-3 pm. The groups will continue on the third Tuesday of each month.

EAC Summer Workshop: Henna Basics with Ashley Hinson-Dhakal
EAC’s Summer Workshop Series continues from 1:30-3:30 pm, Tuesday, August 16, with Ashley Hinson-Dhakal’s Henna Basics. Participants will learn about the history and traditional use of henna, as well as different designs and their meanings.
The session is intended for ages 12 and up. $20; sliding fee scale available. Pre-registration is requested; please email Alison Brennan. EAC is handicapped-accessible and abides by State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines. Additionally, at this time, the EAC recommends that people wear masks when in our building.

Ecstatic Dance at EAC
Ecstatic Dance has resumed weekly meetings at Eastport Arts Center. All are invited to come and dance to great rhythmic music and move however they wish on Tuesdays from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. Attendees should wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring water to drink. The sessions are offered by $5 suggested donation.

The St. George Royal Canadian Branch 38 holds weekly events and the community is invited. On Monday, TOPS is held at 6:00 pm; contact Jimmy at 755-6042 for Cribbage Monday Nights.
