EAC's KinderArts video workshop series continues! In this month's installment, instructor Nia Aretakis demonstrates simple techniques for creating blossom-inspired prints from everyday household items: Q-tips and paper tubes.
The video also features original music by John Cashore, a guitar, fiddle and mandolin-player from Robbinston, Maine, well known from his many performances with the band Keltic Schmeltic.

Appropriate for crafters of all ages, the Craft-Along videos are easy to follow and feature free materials kits for local participants; those who wish (or who are farther from Eastport) may use their own supplies from home. For complete information, visit the website by clicking here.

Join printmaker Nathan Cann for a five-week exploration into monotypes. During the sessions, you will learn the technical aspects of working in a print studio and processes that can be accomplished without the requirement of a press. Classes are limited to six participants for plenty of workspace and instruction time. While all cleaning and printing supplies are included, participants will be asked to bring various textiles and photos for certain sessions. Join StudioWorks Artists-in-Residence Tara Homasi and Emily Oliveira for an artist talk and virtual open studio on Zoom. Homasi is working on a project as an "invisible tourist" that includes video, poetry, drawing and other media. Oliveira is working on quilts, wall-hangings and other textile pieces about the local landscape and utopian mythology.

This is a fun project anyone can do - no experience required! You will leave with a small ready-to-hang mosaic made with pieces of discarded dishes. You will learn how to break and cut pieces safely and effectively, and to apply them to a prepared backing.
If you wish, bring a special piece of your own to incorporate into the design. Materials and tools are supplied. Please bring your PPE Mask, apron and rubber gloves.
