This three day retreat is perfect for a Plein Air painter looking for new territory and new inspiration and people seeking camaraderie in the area. Days will be spent in the field with afternoon check-ins. The week will conclude with an Open House at Cobscook Institute.

Announcing Two Bays Poetry Pen-Pals: A Cobscook Bay and Bay of Fundy community art and poetry project coordinated from Pembroke, Maine.

Mail a poem written by you to Two Bays Poetry Pen-Pals and receive a poem from another community member in return! The poem sent to you will be selected at random, and will be authored by another poet from the Two Bays Region, including Nova Scotia; PEI; Washington County, Maine; and New Brunswick! KinderArts Free Weekly Sessions Resume in Two Towns

Eastport and Calais

KinderArts will resume on Thursdays 10-10:45 am at Sunrise Opportunities (the former Calais Congregational church), 21 Calais Avenue; and Fridays, 10-10:45 am at EAC. The sessions, led by popular instructor Caroline Coleman, will feature music, movement and yoga, and are designed for children up to age 5 to attend with a parent or caregiver.

Pre-register with Nicole at nicole@eastportartscenter.org or walk-in. EAC is a handicapped-accessible venue that abides by State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines, revisiting our policy monthly. At this time, the use of masks in our building is optional.

Friday Play Group

Cobscook Institute 10 Commissary Point Road, Lubec

Join Cobscook Institute for a morning of child-directed free play starting February 3 and continuing on Fridays from 10 am - 12 pm. Start the morning outside to get big energy out, and then step inside the “warming hut” for a cup of tea or cocoa (bring your own snacks). Indoor activities and free play conclude the morning.

Community Kitchen Lunch

Community Kitchen Lunches will resume on January 6. Enjoy a complimentary noon meal, chat with your neighbours, and make new friends! All are welcome.

These meals will run on Fridays from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Anglican Parish Hall (75 King Street). Eat in or take out, delivery within town limits available. All meals are free; donations welcome.

Patrick Mawn at EAC

Eastport Arts Center (EAC) 36 Washington Street, Eastport

Eastport Arts Center will present Charlotte-based singer/songwriter and guitarist Patrick Mawn for an evening of music on Friday, September 22, at 7 pm. Mawn’s eclectic repertoire includes original works and unique takes on popular tunes, ranging across many different genres, and featuring his distinctive strumming style and dynamic performance.

Tickets for the concert are $15, attendees 17 and under will be admitted free of charge. Tickets may be purchased at the EAC box office beginning 30 minutes prior to the show, or reserved in advance by email to info@eastportartscenter.org.
