Announcing Two Bays Poetry Pen-Pals: A Cobscook Bay and Bay of Fundy community art and poetry project coordinated from Pembroke, Maine.

Mail a poem written by you to Two Bays Poetry Pen-Pals and receive a poem from another community member in return! The poem sent to you will be selected at random, and will be authored by another poet from the Two Bays Region, including Nova Scotia; PEI; Washington County, Maine; and New Brunswick! The Bold Coast Runners invite you on weekly excursions around Downeast Maine and the Maritimes, with runners of all capabilities welcomed to join. Run venues vary weekly and range from 1 mile to 50 miles, from smooth tar to rugged single track.

Quoddy Voices: Here In Maine

Eastport Arts Center (EAC) 36 Washington Street, Eastport

Quoddy Voices, a Downeast community chorus, takes the stage on Friday, May 19 (7 pm) and Sunday, May 21 (3 pm) at Eastport Arts Center, with Here In Maine, a celebration of the many musical flavors of our home state. The joyful and varied program will conclude the tenure of the group’s beloved director, John Newell, who will retire from choral conducting this spring, while remaining active with his many other musical pursuits.

Suggested donation for the concert is $15; students 17 and under will be admitted free of charge. The Eastport Arts Center is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport, and at www.eastportartscenter.org, and is handicapped-accessible. At this time, the use of masks in our building is optional.

A native of Prince Edward Island, Rose Cousins lives in Halifax Nova Scotia. She deeply values being part of multiple music communities and is constantly fueled by collaboration. CARLENE is a rising folk musician stationed on the lonely shores of Grand Manan Island, NB.
