Announcing Two Bays Poetry Pen-Pals: A Cobscook Bay and Bay of Fundy community art and poetry project coordinated from Pembroke, Maine.

Mail a poem written by you to Two Bays Poetry Pen-Pals and receive a poem from another community member in return! The poem sent to you will be selected at random, and will be authored by another poet from the Two Bays Region, including Nova Scotia; PEI; Washington County, Maine; and New Brunswick! St. Croix Theatre Co. presents Hilda's Yard by Norm Foster on May 26 and 27 (7 pm) May 28 (2 pm) at the St. Stephen Middle School and on June 2 and 3 (7 pm) and June 4 (2 pm) at the W.C. O'Neill Arena Theatre. This play is "a heartwarming comedy".

Tickets are on sale at Ganong Chocolatier in St. Stephen, OK Tire in Oak Bay, and Cockburn’s Drugstore in St. Andrews, and are expected to sell fast.

EAC to Host Series of Events with Visiting Irish Musician

The Eastport Arts Center is pleased to present a series of events, May 2-6, with renowned Irish fiddler Gerry O’Connor, including workshops, a lecture, a concert and an open jam. Workshops will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 2-4, 6-7 pm, as follows: May 2—Reels; May 3—Music of Oriel; May 4—Jigs. The workshops are open to all ages and experience levels, but some ability on the fiddle is recommended.

A free lunchtime lecture, “The Rose in the Gap: Dance Music of Oriel” will be offered on Wednesday, May 3, noon-1 pm. An evening concert, for which O’Connor will be joined by Kevin McElroy, will be offered Friday, May 5 at 7 pm, featuring a selection of Irish fiddle compositions. As finale of his time in Eastport, O’Connor will host an open jam session from 3-5 pm, Saturday, May 6, at the Old Sow Grill in Eastport.
