Cobscook Institute offers open studio pottery time for $10 an hour for past pottery students and anyone with basic clay experience.

You can sign up for a time slot using this form. If you haven't used the studio before, you'll be required to complete a studio orientation. For help, contact Michelle Cousineau at 207-255-7246 or email michelle@cobscookinstitute.org.

Cobscook Institute has opened registration for its youth summer camps, including Outdoor Skills Camp (day camp) for grades 6-8 in late June, Canoe Camp (overnight) for grades 7-9 in mid-July, and River Camp (overnight) for grades 10-12 in late July to August.

Stage East Seeks Performers for Comic Staged Reading

Eastport Arts Center (EAC) 36 Washington Street, Eastport

Stage East is currently auditioning performers for a staged reading of Hughie Kapooey & the Really Orangey Thing by Cat Lamin, to be presented at 3 pm, February 5, as part of the Sunday Afternoons at the Arts Center series. The comedy is about a bungling detective and his secretary solving a crime in a cocktail club. Those interested are asked to email Carolee Bier at caroleebier@gmail.com.

Please note: female roles for the staged reading have been filled. Stage East is still seeking male performers for the remaining roles.

January/February Pottery Classes at Cobscook Institute

Cobscook Institute is offering ongoing classes for pottery over the next few months. In January and February, there will be Monday Night Pottery, Thursday Afternoon Pottery, and Teen Pottery each week. A special pottery workshop for beginners will be held on February 4.

Nature's Backpack is offering a March Break class for kids. Send your child for a fun week of tracking, wandering, snowshoing, winter edibles, basket making, quinzee/fort making, crafts, games and pancakes and maple syrup day! It will be so much fun they won’t even know they are learning!
