Outdoor European Style Christmas Market

Belding Hill Farms 404 Ravine Road, Hampton

An outdoor European Style Christmas market that challenges what Canadians know Christmas markets to be. The focus will be on eating, drinking and socializing with friends and strangers while shopping for some of those hard to buy for family and friends from local craftsmen/craftswomen and artisans.

The Bold Coast Runners invite you on weekly excursions around Downeast Maine and the Maritimes, with runners of all capabilities welcomed to join. Run venues vary weekly and range from 1 mile to 50 miles, from smooth tar to rugged single track.

Sunday Afternoons at the Arts Center: Chuck Kniffen

Eastport Arts Center (EAC) 36 Washington Street, Eastport

EAC’s Sunday Afternoons at the Arts Center series will continue with a presentation and reading by Chuck Kniffen, author of Fifty Years in a Foxhole (2018) and Rude Awakenings: Making Peace with the Beast Machine (2022), at 3 pm, Sunday, January 22. Kniffen will discuss his experiences in the Vietnam/American war, and his subsequent journey towards natural healing, and share excerpts from his two books.

EAC is handicapped-accessible and abides by State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines. Additionally, at this time, the EAC recommends that people wear masks when in our building.

Village of Blacks Harbour 50th Anniversary skating events

Patrick Connors Recreation Complex 65 Wallace Cove Road, Blacks Harbour

The Village of Blacks Harbour is turning 50 this year, and to celebrate, public skating events will be held at the Patrick Connors Recreational Complex.

On Sundays through February 19, from 12:45-1:45 pm, children and youth are invited to participate in Pucks and Sticks where they can learn some hockey basics at no cost. On Fridays, come for Public Skating from 5:30-7:30 pm. Admission is $2 a skater. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult to either event.
