Sparkle by-the-Sea

Ross Memorial Museum 188 Montague St., ST ANDREWS

Join us for our third Sparkle by-the-Sea celebration from December 8 to 11, a holiday shopping and entertainment event. Participating businesses will be open until 9 pm Thursday to Saturday and 12 noon to 5 pm on Sunday. The historic downtown will be decorated for the holiday season. Enjoy live entertainment, ice sculpture carving, daily live music, caroling, and face painting while gathering with friends and family at the Char and Chowder “Christmas Hub”, sipping mulled cider or hot chocolate.

Weekly Used Book Sale

In addition to our very successful annual summer Used Book Sale, Pembroke Library has now opened a Used Book Shop on the second floor of the library that will be open weekly! Opening day will begin on October 1 and continue every Saturday morning. Genres include action, adventure, mystery, suspense, romance, non-fiction, crafts, children, and more. Additional books will be added as they become available.

Prices are $1 for hard covers and 50 cents for paperbacks.

Youth are invited to join us on December 10 to create their own unique holiday ornaments while we watch The Polar Express and enjoy hot chocolate and holiday treats! This event is open to both CCMA and Community youth ($5 registration fee for community) and all supplies will be provided.

It will be held in St. Stephen from 10 am to noon and in St. George from 2-4 pm (at the CCMA offices).

13 volunteer stage actors will perform the stories of 14 ordinary people of Charlotte County living with mental illness in Riding the Waves. These people came forward to share the most intimate details of their lives, their struggles hoping that others would not feel alone.

Second Saturday String Jam

Old Sow Grill 31 Water Street, Eastport

In the warm tradition of Irish pubs, all are welcome to come to the new Second Saturday String Jam at the Old Sow Grill in Eastport, December 10 from 3-5 pm. Come to play music or come simply to listen and enjoy. This jam is hosted by the house band, Moose Island Contradance, Etc. (MICE) and will be held monthly. Music charts will be provided so all are encouraged to bring instruments and join the fun - fiddle, guitar, ukelele, banjo, spoons, bodhran, voice - all levels welcome.

13th Annual Festival of Trees

Eastport Arts Center (EAC) 36 Washington Street, Eastport

Eastport Arts Center’s 13th annual Festival of Trees will be held from 4:30-5:30 pm, Saturday, December 10. The event will feature a ticket raffle of gift-worthy items in addition to the ‘main event’ of lovingly decorated tabletop trees available by silent bid. Live music and takeout treats will complete the festive fundraiser.

Stage East: The Glass Menagerie

Bank Square Eastport

Stage East adventures beyond the Eastport Arts Center with its next production, The Glass Menagerie. The company will make use of the storefront space at 34 Water Street in Eastport, just across from the Waco Diner, to stage the classic American drama by Tennessee Williams.

Performances will be offered at 7 pm, Fridays and Saturdays, December 2, 3, 9 and 10; and at 2 pm, Sundays, December 4 and 11. Tickets are $15; attendees age 17 and under will be admitted free of charge. Doors for the show will open 30 minutes prior to performances (6:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays; 1:30 pm on Sundays); attendees are asked to be in their seats promptly at 7 pm and 2 pm.
