The Bold Coast Runners invite you on weekly excursions around Downeast Maine and the Maritimes, with runners of all capabilities welcomed to join. Run venues vary weekly and range from 1 mile to 50 miles, from smooth tar to rugged single track.

Hike into History at Klondike Mountain

Klondike Mountain Preserve 1 mile north of Route 189 on North Lubec Road in Lubec, Lubec

How did Klondike Mountain get its name? In 1897, two strangers checked into the Lubec Inn looking for a way to make a quick buck. They claimed that they could extract gold from seawater! Come learn this unique story and other facts regarding the history of Klondike Mountain including details about a historic family farm and remnants of a man-made dam seen from the summit overlook.

This history walk at Klondike Mountain will be led by DCC Board Vice President Robin Pinto. The event will be approximately 1.5 hours in length. Please register in advance.

Quoddy Voices: ‘A Harvest of Song’

Eastport Arts Center (EAC) 36 Washington Street, Eastport

Quoddy Voices takes the stage on Friday November 18 at 7 pm and on Sunday, November 20 at 3 pm at EAC. The chorus’ program, ‘A Harvest of Song,’ celebrates the season of thanksgiving as well as the upcoming feast day of St. Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians.

Suggested donation for the concert is $15; students age 17 and under will be admitted free. The Eastport Arts Center is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport, and at www.eastportartscenter.org, and is handicapped-accessible.

Village of Blacks Harbour 50th Anniversary skating events

Patrick Connors Recreation Complex 65 Wallace Cove Road, Blacks Harbour

The Village of Blacks Harbour is turning 50 this year, and to celebrate, public skating events will be held at the Patrick Connors Recreational Complex.

On Sundays through February 19, from 12:45-1:45 pm, children and youth are invited to participate in Pucks and Sticks where they can learn some hockey basics at no cost. On Fridays, come for Public Skating from 5:30-7:30 pm. Admission is $2 a skater. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult to either event.
