October Art Show at The Lubec Library

Lubec Memorial Library 55 Water Street, Lubec

Phillip Robertson is an artist and educator living in Vermont. Visiting the Lubec area for the last 25 years with his family, Robertson has sketched and made prints of the Maine coast and the Northern New England landscape. Primarily working with relief printmaking, he transforms his sketches made from nature into multiple prints using traditional techniques.

See Robertson's work through the month of October at the Lubec Memorial Library. A portion of sales will be donated to the library. On Saturday October 29, the artist will be present at the end of the exhibit from noon to 2 pm with unframed prints for sale.

In addition to our very successful annual summer Used Book Sale, Pembroke Library has now opened a Used Book Shop on the second floor of the library that will be open weekly! Opening day will begin on October 1 and continue every Saturday morning. Genres include action, adventure, mystery, suspense, romance, non-fiction, crafts, children, and more. Additional books will be added as they become available.

Prices are $1 for hard covers and 50 cents for paperbacks.

Our Fallfest Annual Kid's Halloween Party will take place this year on October 29. This i free to any child 15 and under. We will have food and drinks for the kiddos. Each child will receive a bag with their name on it for their "goodies". They will also receive tickets that can be cashed in at the goodie table. Extra tickets can be won if the child is in costume.

There will be a pumpkin-carving contest (please remember this is for the children to do themselves with minimal help by the parent) and games to play.
