Registration is now open for a four day Grand Manan Photography Workshop running from July 12-15. The workshop is appropriate for photographers of all levels with an expert photographer guiding through the opportunities as they present themselves. A full itinerary is planned for each day, including visits to some of the most beautiful scenery in the area.

NB public libraries are giving away free passes to the NB Botanical Garden in Edmundston to anyone with a public library card. From May 2 – 20, 2022, you can come to the library to get your pass, which you can use to gain a one-time entrance to the park on any day it is open between May 21 and June 10, 2022.

The Community Caring Collaborative's Work Group meets with Poverty Busters on Zoom from 1:00-3:00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month. Work Group members are direct service workers, volunteers and agency admins who come together to share resources, support each other and brainstorm solutions to community needs. Poverty Busters are low-income community members, partners from agencies, and other community members working on grassroots strategies to increase poverty awareness locally and to remove the barriers that poverty creates. Both groups are now meeting together to improve communication and to ensure that the CCC is effective in helping to change outcomes for those it serves. Parents, service providers and other community members are welcome!

The 8th Annual Youth Art Month Exhibition is currently on view at Eastport Arts Center's Washington Street Gallery. Works have been submitted by area art teachers from Calais Jr./Sr. High School, Elm Street School (East Machias), Eastport Elementary, Machias Jr./Sr. High School, Pembroke Elementary, Rose M. Gaffney Elementary (Machias), Shead High School (Eastport), Sipayik Elementary, Washington Academy, Whiting Village School and Woodland Jr./Sr. High School, as well as by home schooled students. The show will run through May 16, and is viewable during EAC events or by chance, or during special open hours 1-3 pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Eastport Arts Center is handicapped-accessible and abides by State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines. Additionally, at this time, patrons are required to wear masks when in the EAC building.

Running Out of Time will lead an open mic jam on March 23rd at the St. George Legion from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Contact Karen Sturgeon at 467-5907 for more information.

Open mic nights will continue at the Legion every other Wednesday hereafter.
