Calling Community Artists for Heart-Themed Art!

The second annual "Hearts for the Arts" auction will be held to benefit the 2022 Eastport ArtWalk Passport weekend events. Online auction on Facebook opens February 5th and will close on February 13th at 5:00 pm - just in time for Valentine's Day!

Up to five pieces of heart-themed art (all mediums welcome: paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, fiber arts, jewelry, woodworking, etc.) can be submitted at no cost until February 4 through this form. You need not live in the Eastport area to participate. For more information, email

Applications now open for Brendan Leddy Memorial Scholarship

Washington County teenagers with an interest in skateboarding or other extreme sports are invited to apply to the for Brendan Leddy Memorial Scholarship. Offered by the Calais Skatepark Committee in memory of founding member Brendan Leddy, it provides a weeklong trip to the premier extreme sports training camp in the country (Camp Woodward, Pennsylvania).

Camp registration now open for Greenland Point

Greenland Point Princeton

Washington County's renowned Greenland Point youth camp is now accepting registrations for programs in the summer. Greenland Point is operated by the University of Maine 4-H program and teaches a variety of wilderness and social skills to different ages.

Downeast Coastal Conservancy and Downeast Lakes Land Trust are coming together for a “Downeast Day on the Ice”. Join us at Vining Lake Community Preserve, located in Cooper Township on January 29th from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm for activities for all ages!
