Registration Open for the Calais List of Lights

The Calais List of Lights is a community-wide event that encourages residents to participate in a shared Christmas lights driving exhibit. Add your home to the list by sending a reply to this Facebook post with your name and street address. All entries must be submitted by November 30 to be added to the list.

Last year's event brought hundreds of smiles and feel-goods, as well as people from out of town who came to view the decorations! A map will be created and passed around on Facebook once the list is complete. See last year's map here.

Quilt Raffle

Charlotte Volunteer Fire and Rescue 1100 Ayer's Junction Rd, Charlotte

Win a beautiful "Hills and Furrows" Log Cabin Scrappy Quilt made by four Charlotte-based quilters (Bonnie Hunter, Peggy Sawyer, Merrily Sparling, and Marilyn Wimmergren) and quilted in the "Baptist Swirl" design to benefit Charlotte Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Proceeds will be used to purchase cold water rescue gear. This warm and cozy covering can be won by purchased tickets at $5 each. The quilt is 82" by 82" and will fit either a full or queen bed comfortably.

Become a Maine Master Naturalist

Washington County Community College One College Drive, Calais

The mission of the Maine Master Naturalist Program is to train people to be volunteer naturalists who will enrich nature education in Maine. In a year-long course, MMNP teaches participants to volunteer for organizations around the state and inspire all kinds of audiences about Maine’s natural world.

Toddler Time at Huntsman Marine

Huntsman Marine Science Centre 1 Lower Campus Road, St. Andrews

Bring your toddlers (5 and under) to the Huntsman Marine Science Centre for a fun morning of exploration and learning at the Aquarium! Programs may include stories, songs, interactions with live animals, and easy crafts and games. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

This is a two hour program, with the first hour consisting of activities and the second hour consisting of self-guided aquarium exploration. 2021 dates are as follows: October 19, November 9, and December 14. Register here.
