Become a Maine Master Naturalist

The mission of the Maine Master Naturalist Program is to train people to be volunteer naturalists who will enrich nature education in Maine. In a year-long course, MMNP teaches participants to volunteer for organizations around the state and inspire all kinds of audiences about Maine’s natural world.

Classes will be held at Washington County Community College. Register by November 15. Click here for more information and online application.

Quilt Raffle

Win a beautiful "Hills and Furrows" Log Cabin Scrappy Quilt made by four Charlotte-based quilters (Bonnie Hunter, Peggy Sawyer, Merrily Sparling, and Marilyn Wimmergren) and quilted in the "Baptist Swirl" design to benefit Charlotte Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Proceeds will be used to purchase cold water rescue gear. This warm and cozy covering can be won by purchased tickets at $5 each. The quilt is 82" by 82" and will fit either a full or queen bed comfortably.

Virtual Gallery Tour Available

Eastport Gallery is closed for the season, but more than fifty works by its members are on display through the virtual gallery, including some pieces that are bursting with seasonal colors. You’ll find works in oil, ink, pastel, ceramics and even sea glass! Plus, there is a special section for greeting cards and books if you are looking for a small gift for a friend.

In the Place Where You Live by Theresa MacKnight

Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre 139 Water Street, St. Andrews

In the Place Where You Live is a collection of oil paintings depicting local wildlife at night. Theresa MacKnight lives in St. Andrews, New Brunswick. She works mainly in oil and encaustic, both in her studio and plein air. MacKnight was trained in Fine Art at Mount Allison University and Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

Theresa exhibits her work in public and private galleries throughout New Brunswick. She has been the recipient of Arts NB grants and several residencies in venues such as KIRA International Residency for the Arts, The River Arts Centre, Florenceville and Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre.

Theresa is active in the New Brunswick arts community including service on the board of Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre. She is a retired high School Visual Art Specialist and continues to teach adult and children’s workshops.
