Registration opens for Principles of Oil Painting

Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre 139 Water Street, St. Andrews

In this twelve-hour course, participants will learn the basics of oil painting through structured activities and practice. Emphasis will be on an introduction to foundational principles that participants can build upon. Class will run 13th of November, November 18, 25 & December 2, 9, on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sunbury Shores.

Theresa MacKnight is a highly accomplished artist and art teacher. She has won numerous awards and has been exhibited widely across New Brunswick. As a full-time, high school art teacher, Theresa has extensive knowledge of working in different mediums and teaches with patience, encouragement and genuine consideration of individuals’ needs.

Quilt Raffle

Charlotte Volunteer Fire and Rescue 1100 Ayer's Junction Rd, Charlotte

Win a beautiful "Hills and Furrows" Log Cabin Scrappy Quilt made by four Charlotte-based quilters (Bonnie Hunter, Peggy Sawyer, Merrily Sparling, and Marilyn Wimmergren) and quilted in the "Baptist Swirl" design to benefit Charlotte Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Proceeds will be used to purchase cold water rescue gear. This warm and cozy covering can be won by purchased tickets at $5 each. The quilt is 82" by 82" and will fit either a full or queen bed comfortably.

Annual Moosehorn Ghost Run – Half Marathon and Relay

Runners, walkers and friends are invited to join the Friends of Moosehorn for a wild run through Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge. This is a Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and 2 or 3 person team relay.

With your registration you'll receive Ghost Run swag, a well marked half-marathon and our traditional pot-luck food afterwards.
Awards (at the discretion of the race director) will include Top 3 overall awards, 10 year age groups, relay awards and Halloween themed awards such as best costume, etc.

Hanley’s Halloween Drive In and Walk Through

Hanley’s Halloween Drive In and Walk Through in Pennfield is on again this year, albeit with a few changes. The third year of the event includes a Spooky Tunnel, Bone Yard, Spooky Garden Tunnel (for all ages), selfie areas for family keepsake photos, and more!

Drive Through Trunk or Treat

Pembroke American Legion 92 Front Street, Pembroke

Ride by the spooky trunks in front of the American Legion in Pembroke and score some treats for the season on October 31! No one is to leave their vehicles, as there will be hungry goblins that may snatch you up. Roll down your window and see what goodies you might get. Traffic will be directed with masks and gloves used.

Aerobics with Julie Richard

Join experienced instructor Julie Richard for aerobics at Woodland Elementary! Classes will be suitable for all levels with a goal of elevating heart rates and inspiring circulatory health as the cold weather approaches. Classes are tentatively set for Wednesdays at 6 pm and Sundays at 4 pm, with an option for Saturday mornings at 9 am if there is enough interest.

Halloweenie Roast and Trunk or Treat

Campobello Island Gift House 917 Route 774, Welshpool

The Campobello Island Gift House invites you to the Annual Halloweenie Roast and Trunk or Treat on October 31. The fun starts at 4:30 in the parking lot and goes until the candy runs out (or around 6:30). Plenty or decorations and fun seasonal vignettes will be around the area. Stop in before your trick or treat route to grab a hot dog and a head start on the evening's candy!

Participants will be required to practice safe social distancing and wear masks during the event. Each trunk participant will be santizing between each visitor or bubble group.

Yoga at Stockford Park with Ginny Beisel

You can catch Ginny teaching all levels of outdoor classes at Stockford Park in Lubec on Sundays from 10-11 am, and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 pm. Outdoor classes run through the end of October.

Ginny Beisel is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher living in Lubec Maine. She discovered yoga while healing from a running injury and fell in love with yoga’s simple but powerful practices. She believes in helping her students discover and explore yoga’s dynamic nature in their own unique way. By leading classes that are accessible and affordable, Ginny strives to bring equity to the yoga community.

Trunk or Treat Celebration

Church of the Open Bible 1222 Airline Road, Alexander

The Church of the Open Bible in Alexander is holding a Trunk or Treat Celebration on Sunday, October 31 at 6:00 pm. There will be plenty of candy for the kids with lots of stops to visit and collect more treats. Adults can enjoy coffee, tea, hot cider, and sweets of their own!

Once you have your candy collected, stay for the bonfire. Everything you need for S'mores will be provided! Tours of the newly renovated church are also available.
