Eastport Pirate Festival

Eastport ME

After a year's absence, the celebrated Eastport Pirate Festival is back to help bring in some raucous cheer!

The Eastport Pirate Festival is a weekend of fun for the whole family featuring pirates, cannons, treasure, games, costumes, vendors and more! Come and see the largest pirate festival in New England and the Maritimes and pay homage to Passamaquoddy Bay's long-detailed history of smuggling.

It all begins with the invasion of Lubec on September 4. Be on either side of the bay (or take a boat ride across!) to get the full flavor of maritime merriment. The following weekend sees the rest of the events kick off.

Maine Open Lighthouse Day

West Quoddy Head Lighthouse South Lubec Road, Lubec

This popular annual event (sponsored by the United States Coast Guard, the Maine Office of Tourism and the American Lighthouse Foundation) attracts between 15,000 to 18,000 visitors each year, and offers the general public the rare opportunity to climb and learn about over two dozen historic Maine lights.

West Quoddy Head, in Quoddy Head State Park, Lubec, Maine, is the easternmost point of the contiguous United States! Since 1808, there has been a lighthouse here to guide ships through the Quoddy Narrows. The current one, with distinctive red-and-white stripes, was built in 1858, and is an active aid to navigation.

West Quoddy will be open for tower tours provided by the U.S. Coast Guard. Fun and music all day long. Time for tours will be announce by the USCG closer to the day of event.

Check the West Quoddy Head Facebook page here to see what time the event will begin.
