Artist to Artist online

Online Event Anywhere you can connect to the internet, ME

A new video series, Artist to Artist, produced by gallery member Jude Kempe, will be featured on the Eastport Gallery website. Kempe says “The series idea came about because as an artist myself I am interested in asking fellow artists questions like, ‘Why do we make art? Why did we choose to be artists? What are our influences?’” The series will feature in-studio chats, interviews and discussions between artists who have been drawn to the Eastport area for many years and for many different reasons.

The first video features part one of Kempe’s in-studio chat with sculptor and founding Eastport Gallery member, Elizabeth Ostrander. Links to this series and all Eastport Gallery shows and events may be accessed at

Virtual Readers Theater

Online Event Anywhere you can connect to the internet, ME

Machias Adult Ed Readers' Theater students will research ideas, choose a script, then read, analyze and discuss it in order to create an entirely remote performance piece using the Zoom Platform.

We'll use presentation, digital music, image and sound manipulation software to achieve "special effects" as students read their parts with scripts at-hand so there will be NO MEMORIZATION and no in-person meetings.

Students will gain the practical experience necessary to function as a member of a production team, learn to appreciate the collaborative nature of such work, the protocols of the professional theater and how to improve communication and organizational skills.
