The Eastport Gallery will host a new selection of artworks for the month of September as well as its final theme show, Rebellion, starting the second weekend of the month.
The gallery is located at 109 Water Street in the heart of Eastport's historic downtown, and is open Friday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the wearing of masks and other CDC guidelines in place.
Black will present a fun afternoon of painting, printing and embellishing papers to create a unique art journal. Participants will use simple methods accessible for any level of art experience. After creating the artful papers, attendees will construct an easy no-sew book that opens flat, ready for more printing, stamping, drawing, collage, and embellishment. A kit of supplies will be provided for pick-up before the class, including a brayer, samples of acrylic paints, papers, recycled foam printing and stamping plates, and a few other items for texturing and mark-making. Participants will also receive a list of additional items they will need, which can be found around the house (apron, tape, scissors, ruler, paper towels, etc.)
This workshop is for ages 12 and up (younger children may participate with the guidance of an adult); the $10 registration fee includes most materials (a sliding fee scale is available by request). Space is limited. Please preregister by Friday, September 18, by emailing registration name, phone number and address to email@example.com.
