Featured artists are kindergarten through grade 12 students from the following schools: Beatrice Rafferty Elementary, Calais Elementary and High Schools, Machias Valley Christian School, Pembroke Elementary, Woodland Elementary and Jr./Sr. High, and the Whiting Village School. Stage East’s Laugh Lab is now being presented online! All are invited to join in and learn how to watch, read, and write short comedic sketches. Check out the first video by clicking "More Information" below. Please note organizer Mark Macey’s disclaimer about the class, which will include pausing the lesson to watch clips from a YouTube playlist he has assembled: “Sketch comedy—all comedy really—often deals with taboo or somewhat inappropriate or sensitive subject matter. So please be aware of that as we go forward. There’s also some language in the sketches that we’re going to watch.” Questions and comments may be sent to Macey at mark@eastportartscenter.org. Please note: video lessons will remain available for viewing, and new lessons will be added weekly at eastportartscenter.org.

Eastport, ME 04631 United States

EAC’s two weekly dance groups—Ecstatic Dance and International Dance—will continue to offer opportunities for participation, via YouTube playlists. The Ecstatic group has always provided dancers a chance to cut loose and dance with no rules or judgement, and the initial playlist offers listeners some great inspiration to do the same from the comfort of home. The International Dancers have a tradition of teaching dances from around the world; their playlist includes demonstration videos of other dancers so watchers can follow along with the steps, or just move joyfully. Please stay tuned for more playlists, and in the meanwhile, start with the following links. Videos will remain available, and in the case of Ecstatic Dance, a new playlist will be added each week in time for participants to dance at the group's usual time—5-6 pm on Tuesday nights.
