Workshop: Epoxy Resin Techniques with Melissa Newcomb

Eastport Arts Center (EAC) 36 Washington Street, Eastport

Melissa Newcomb will teach an introductory level workshop on Epoxy Resin techniques on Saturday, January 25, from 1-4 pm. Participants will learn the basic methods to turn any surface into a stunning, recreatable, functional art piece. The process is relevant for those looking to remodel countertops or to do small crafting or DIY projects. Newcomb, who has chosen coasters as the introductory project notes: “Learning on coasters allows you to test the waters on a smaller scale, while still applying these fun techniques.” She notes that the epoxy resin to be used is certified food safe, with zero volatile organic compounds, and once fully cured, is 500 degree heat safe.
