Children’s Theater Workshop

Eastport Arts Center (EAC) 36 Washington Street, Eastport

Eastport Arts Center’s Children’s Theater Workshop (CTW) will begin a new session on Saturday, January 11. The group will meet from 10-11:30 am, and be held weekly on Saturdays. Led by Mark Macey with assistance from Chris Grannis, the group will introduce young people to theater arts, including an array of theater games and exercises. The group will discuss interest in a possible production for this spring at EAC. CTW is free for participants, and open to children aged 7 to 17. Children younger than age 7 should be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio: ‘Reflections on America’

The Eastport Arts Center is excited to announce an appearance by Bill de Blasio, the Mayor of New York City and recent presidential candidate, on Saturday, January 18 at 1 pm. He will give an informal talk entitled “Reflections on America” and take questions afterwards. EAC is particularly proud to present this nationally recognized politician on his third recent visit to rural Maine. This event is a special benefit for the center, in support of its many programs.

Folk Rock: Brian ‘b don’ Fayle in Concert

Eastport Arts Center (EAC) 36 Washington Street, Eastport

Eastport Arts Center presents Brian “b don” Fayle (AKA “2 Times Brian”) on Saturday, January 18 at 7 pm. Fayle, who’ll accompany himself on electric and acoustic guitar, will feature his original music. The musician says his inspirations for songwriting are: “life events, relationships and the powerful emotions that bind the world together.” In addition, Fayle will present some favorite ‘cover’ tunes.
