If you have never used oil paint, or if you have been painting for some time and want to take your work to the next level, this class is for you!

This course places strong emphasis on a complete understanding of colour and light as it relates to creating the illusion of three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional surface. It explores oil painting techniques such as direct and indirect methods, open and closed grisailles, and the best tactics for building a sound painting.

Gyotaku originally was a method fishermen used to keep track of the number of fish they caught and to keep a document of the sizes of the fish. this tradition became an art form. Participants will use printing ink on unscaled fish and seaweed and hand print on paper. All ages, small children accompanied by an adult.
