This course places strong emphasis on a complete understanding of colour and light as it relates to creating the illusion of three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional surface. A fund‑raising event, "Welcoming the Stranger: Downeast Maine Cares," will be held with two main fundraising an support-raising goals: helping immigrants in Maine through the Maine Immigrant Rights Coalition, and helping immigrants at the southern border, in particular children separated from families. Event will occur on Monday, August 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eastport Welcome Center at the breakwater. Finger foods will be served, and a roster of speakers will guide the discussion. The event is by donation and proceeds will directly support the stated goals.
