While keeping an eye on the various disciplines within the theory of plein air painting: value, colour, light, composition, anatomy, perspective and gesture, we will strive to apply paint loosely with speed and vitality, while taking in the ever-changing natural surroundings of St. Andrews.Claudia Munro Kerr grew up in Scotland and Spain and trained at the City and Guilds of London, the Art Students League of New York, the National Academy of Arts and the Grand Central Academy. Claudia holds a B.A. Honours Degree in the History of Art from the University of Bristol, England, and lives in New York with her husband and two young children.

Ferns of New Brunswick with Dr. Jim Goltz. Ferns are a wonderfully diverse and ancient group of plants that grace the woodlands, cliffs and fields of New Brunswick, and have a very unique terminology.  Learn how to recognize the species of ferns that have been found on Grand Manan and gain a better understanding of their life cycles and ecology. (A guided nature fern walk will take place at 9am the next day.  Details will be available at the event or by calling the Museum:  506-662-3524.)  Admission by Donation.
