Birds of a Feather Exhibition

For this show three artist have created works using their own interpretation of the same species of birds. Dianna Ammons Johnson expresses her passion for birds through her photography.  Bonnie Clymer began to experiment with combining gold leaf and oil painting while and discovered that a gold leaf background placed emphasis on the shape and texture of the image it surrounded. Michael Morse is a folk artist who uses driftwood, glass, found objects and a sense of humor to create three dimensional pieces.  Birds are a favorite subject and many of the natural items used often have bird-like qualities.

Maine Comedy All Stars Showcase

Eastport Arts Center will go for laughs on Saturday, July 27 at 7 pm, with the Maine Comedy All Stars show. Three in-demand Maine comedian will perform: Colby Bradshaw, Dennis Fogg and Ian Stuart. Bradshaw is always a crowd favorite with his witty takes on food, friends and Irish step dancing, and was winner of the 2017 Couch Comedy Competition, beating out 60 other comedians; you may have seen him opening for comedians Bob Marley, Juston Mickinny or Jay Mohr. Fogg, seen on The Food Channel, has more than 20 years of comedy under his belt, and offers a fast paced, hilarious look at his family, kids and work, and a unique take on Maine humor. Headlining the night is Ian Stuart, one of New England's most in-demand headliners and founder of the Portland Maine Comedy Festival. Known for his vivid story telling, gut-busting one-liners and sharp crowd work, Ian has worked and performed with many of the top names in comedy.
