The art has been photographed by Robin Farrin, a frequent documenter of EAC events, and has been compiled as an online exhibition on the center’s site, so that all can enjoy. Featured artists are kindergarten through grade 12 students from the following schools: Beatrice Rafferty Elementary, Calais Elementary and High Schools, Machias Valley Christian School, Pembroke Elementary, Woodland Elementary and Jr./Sr. High, and the Whiting Village School. The Downeast Rainbow Alliance (DRA) in collaboration with UMM's Omicron Delta Pi (ODP) is pleased to announce monthly Inter-Generational Craft Time in Whiting. On 2nd Saturdays the DRA & ODP will be hosting a "bring your own craft" circle from 10 a.m. til 12 p.m. at Cobscook Friends Meetinghouse on Route 189 at the town line of Whiting and Trescott. The event is designed to foster community for LGBTQ+ people and Allies. This is an all ages event, with playtime for children, snacks for everyone and opportunities for playing music as well. Bring your knitting, sewing, mending, button maker, coloring or wherever you land in the crafty realm. This craft circle will be meeting on the 2nd Saturdays through the month of May. Eastport Arts Center’s Life Drawing workshop, led by Anne Shields Hopkins, resumes with a session on Wednesday, January 22 from 4-6 pm. Subsequently, the group will meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month, 4-6 pm, though April. The workshop aims to create an engaging space where artists novice to experienced can relax, focus and create together. “We always have snacks, a warm space and open attitudes,” noted Hopkins. “Models are nude and professional, occasionally a costume is added for dramatic flair! Artists are clothed and respectful.
