Summer Arts Camp: ‘I Wonder with Watercolors’
July 7 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
An event every day that begins at 10:00 am, repeating until July 9, 2020
Session One of EAC’s Summer Arts Camp, for ages 6-13, is all about watercolors. Ann Cannizzaro, an educator and artist who’ll lead the camp asks: “Do you wonder what to do when you take out your paint box and brushes? Are you curious about how watercolors work?”
Campers will learn about how to use water and paint: how shapes can help create space in painting; what happens when color circles bump shoulders! Best of all, students will explore fun ideas to gain knowledge and skill with paint and brush. Who knows? Some might even become painters! Come to class so we can find out…..
Since this is a Zoom summer camp, participants can join us from where ever they happen to be spending their days that week. Local children* can receive their bag of materials including paint set, 2 brushes and watercolor paper pad with their $5 registration fee. (A sliding fee scale is available by request). Bags will be on the front steps of EAC on Monday, July 6th from 10 am to 1 pm, or contact Alison for an alternate time/place. Registration fees may be left in the coffee can provided. All Covid-19 precautions will be followed by Alison as she prepares the materials packets wearing a mask and gloves.
*Due to supplies being less expensive than we’d thought they’d be, registration fees have been reduced since last week’s post and are now just $5 per child or $10 per family!*
PLEASE preregister by July 1 as some of these materials need to be purchased out of town. Email registration name, phone number and address to firstname.lastname@example.org. Funding for this workshop provided by Belvedere Traditional Handcrafts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.
*If you aren’t local or wish for other reasons to provide your own materials, we hope that you can still join us for these Zoom workshops. Please email Alison to indicate your interest, and to receive information about signing in to the class. A registration donation is welcome, but not necessary if you are providing your own materials.
