Submissions wanted for Student Art Show

April 1

Eastport Arts Center will present the 10th annual Student Art Exhibition from April 1 through April 29. A perennial favorite at the Center, the show features artwork of K-12 students and homeschoolers from all around the region, and is proud to boast the largest-ever group of participating schools, including works from Eastport Elementary, Shead High, Sipayik Elementary, Perry Elementary, Calais Jr/Sr High, Woodland Elementary and Jr/Sr High, Indian Township Elementary, Elm Street Elementary, Rose Gaffney Elementary, Machais Jr/Sr High, Washington Academy, Lubec Elementary, Whiting Village School and Pembroke Elementary. A special reception for the show, which will be displayed in the Arts Center’s Washington Street Gallery, will be held from 2-3:30 pm, Saturday, April 6. All are invited to attend.
“This is the highest level of participation we’ve ever had, with Indian Township and Lubec Elementary schools participating for the first time,” noted longtime exhibition organizer Cynthia Morse, an EAC Board member, artist and gallery owner who had a first passionate career as an art educator.
Washington Street Gallery, open during EAC events or by chance or appointment, is on the first floor of Eastport Arts Center, at 36 Washington Street, Eastport and, and is handicapped-accessible.
