StudioWorks Artist-in-Residence Rie Hasegawa will host two events in October. Hasegawa will teach a workshop on collagraph printmaking on Sunday, October 13, from 1-3 pm at StudioWorks, 48 Water Street, in Eastport. Rie Hasegawa is an artist/printmaker based in New York City and works at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop at The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts. At StudioWorks, Hasegawa is working on a series of mixed-media prints made from collagraphs, chine colle and drawings.
Participants in the workshop will learn how to build an image using a variety of materials, glued to a printmaking plate, ink the plate, and make prints. Registration is limited to 8 people and there is a $5 fee per person for supplies. To register, or for more information, call 207-853-4047 or email kmckinlay@tidesinstitute.org.
Hasegawa will also host an open studio and artist talk on Wednesday, October 16 at 7 pm.
