Tracey Cockrell is an interdisciplinary artist who synthesizes sculpture, experimental music, and linguistic theory. She will be conducting a series of listening walks in different locations; on Saturday, May 18th, Meet at StudioWorks at 5:30 pm and walk to pier and urban beaches around the city. Observing low tide of full moon. Tracey will be collecting sounds and materials. Walks are weather permitting. Check in at StudioWorks, 48 Water Street, at any time. Tracey currently lives and works in Woodstock, NY. Tuesday, May 14th, Meet at Shackford Head State Park parking lot at 1:30 pm to hike trails to observe low tide. Tracey will be collecting sounds and materials.
Thursday, May 16th, meet at Shackford Head State Park parking lot at 9:00 am to hike trails to observe high tide. Tracey will be collecting sounds and materials.
Saturday, May 18th, Meet at North end of Water Street overlooking Deer Island at 8:00 am (or meet at StudioWorks at 7:30 AM to walk with Tracey to site). Look for Old Sow Mid tide (to high tide) on full moon – a time that whirlpool activity may be most active. Tracey will be collecting sounds and materials.
Sunday, May 19th: 9:30 AM Cobscook Reversing Falls at Pembroke Reversing Falls Park. Meet at parking area. Hike to listen to and record reversing falls at mid tide (to high tide). Will be collecting sounds and materials.
