New Year’s Shows on Tap in Eastport

December 31, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Stage East continues its tradition of presenting New Year’s Eve comedies in 2018 with its newest production, suitably named “Two More New Year’s Comedies.” Directed by Brian Schuth, this hour-long production features an anarchic piano lesson and an an awkward and revealing conversation in an airplane. The father/son acting team of Brian and Roy Duffy, residents of Perry, will conduct the piano lesson in David Ives’ Roll Over Beethoven. Shari Wilner’s Relative Strangers features actresses from the Whiting and Machias areas. Eustacia Landrum plays a young woman in desperate need of a mother, and Anna Baskerville, a veteran of Stage East and the Magnificent Liars, plays her extremely reluctant seatmate. Jessica Brisette is the stewardess who watches, waits, and tries to engineer a happy ending.

Presented as part of Eastport’s New Year’s Eve festivities, “Two More New Year’s Comedies” will be presented on December 31 (of course!) at 7 pm and 9 pm. Tickets for the performances are $6, and those under 17 will be admitted free of charge. Both shows are suitable for all audiences. Tickets are available at the door or at The Eastport Arts Center is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport, and is handicapped-accessible.
