KinderArts Sessions Highlight Folk Tales, World Music

Young children and their caregivers are invited to KinderArts Music and Movement sessions on Fridays, July 22 and August 5, from 10-10:45 am. On July 22, a Folk Tunes and Tales program will combine reading stories and enjoying songs of tall tales such as The Bremen Town Musicians, The Three Little Pigs Blues, Abiyoyo, and In the Hall of the Mountain King.

On August 5, a program of Music and Dances from Around the World will present dances of the 7 continents and favorite folk dances of kids and teachers by Sanna Longden: Tokyo Dontaku, Agadu from Israel, Bongo (Trinidad/West African), Bluebird (American), Mexican Clapping Game, Shake Them ‘Simmons Down (America).

KinderArts sessions are free, and are geared for ages 3-8 with a caregiver or parent. Younger siblings are also welcome. Those who have questions may email Alison Brennan at Support for this workshop has been provided by Belvedere Traditional Handcrafts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation. Eastport Arts Center is at 36 Washington Street, Eastport and, and is handicapped-accessible. EAC abides by State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines. Additionally, at this time, the EAC recommends that people wear masks when in our building.
