Join professional authors Dr. Gerard Collins and Janie Simpson in the lovely resort town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick, for a week-long, small group writing retreat. You’ll have a private, ensuite room in a historic mansion, a separate writing studio for your exclusive use, and the award-winning Kingsbrae Garden at your doorstep.

We’ll host group readings on some evenings, where you can share your writing with fellow participants, if you like – without pressure. We’ll also have two writing workshops facilitated by Gerard, an award-winning author and university professor. Because we’re here for a full week, there’s time for two one-on-one meetings with Gerard to discuss your work, and he’ll provide direct feedback on a writing sample you submit in advance.

Retreats are May 14-21 and June 16-23, and include all breakfasts and three suppers, catered by a Kingsbrae Garden Café chef onsite. There are only 5 rooms available for each week, which means lots of individual attention; you can register as a single or bring someone to share your room, studio, and costs (we don’t group people unless it’s at their request). This second person can be a non-writing spouse/guest – we often have non-writers join us, and they’re welcome to participate in as few or as many of the writing activities as they wish.

Go and Write! retreat participants range from beginning writers who want to start jotting down their thoughts, to experienced writers who’ve published extensively. Previous attendees include playwrights, poets, novelists, television producers, short story and memoir writers, children’s book authors, and everything in between.
