CulturePass is your window into the artistic and cultural richness of the greater international Passamaquoddy region including Cobscook and Passamaquoddy Bays and the St. Croix River.
StudioWorks Artist-in-Residence Corwin Levi will be hosting open studio workshops for members of of the community to participate in a collaborative art project during his 4-week stay in Eastport. Levi, who splits his time between New Hampshire and Texas, is a former attorney who is now a project-based artist. His art ranges from drawings, paintings, videos, and murals, to his most recent work Mirror Mirrored, an artist book reimagining Grimms’ Fairy Tales.
Participants will have the opportunity to create their own constellations on star charts and to construct community art with building blocks.
Dates and times for the open studios will be:
Friday, May 11, and Friday, May 18 from 1 to 3 pm.
Sunday, May 13 and Sunday, May 20 from 6 to 8 pm.
All materials will be provided and these events are free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.
Levi will be working with a small group of students from Pembroke Elementary School and students from other area schools during his term. He will also be giving an artist talk and open studio reception for the public near the end of his term on Wednesday, May 30, at 7 pm at StudioWorks, 48 Water Street, Eastport.
