Felt Fest: A three-day series of wool-felting workshops for all levels

July 9 - July 11

Eastport Arts Center’s first-ever Felt Fest is a three-day series of wool felting workshops for students of all levels, running July 9-11. Students may sign up for all 5 classes, which include both wet and dry methods, or choose among them. Felting is a meditative and fascinating tactile process, and instructor Audra Christie has enjoyed exploring the huge range of applications of the medium. Details of the five workshops and more information about Audra may be found here.

Space is limited and reservations are required, via our site or by email to A sliding fee scale (pay what you can) is available by request. Felt Fest has been supported by the Belvedere Traditional Handcrafts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.

Instructor Audra Christie is a fiber artist and arts educator living on a 15-acre homestead in Cherryfield, Maine. She crafts felt hats, spins yarn, and creates with wool from her pet sheep. Her work explores rural community themes and local culture. Audra holds a BFA from the University of Maine at Machias and an MFA from the Maine College of Art.
