Explorations in Wet Felting: Mittens with Chelsea Frigault-Smith

November 24, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Explore the rich medium of wet felting with the talented textile artist Chelsea Frigault Smith! Wet felting is the bonding of loose wool fibres through the use of friction and heat to create wool felt. In this course, you will learn the basics of three-dimensional wet felting to make a cozy pair of mittens – perfect for winter or seasonal gift!

Perfect for beginners and a back to basics course for those with experience. Play with colour and texture and create your own unique felt masterpiece.

Materials included (plus specialty fibres for sale from the artist if wanted).

Notes: Students to bring: old towel – appropriate gloves if you have skin sensitivity. Students will be working with
natural wool and mild soap. Please note this class is physically quite strenuous due to the felting and fulling process required.
