Eastport Arts Center’s Second Saturday Open Mic Night
February 8 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
EAC’s Second Saturday Open Mic series continues on February 8, from 6-8 pm. Spectators and performers of all ages are invited to the family-friendly event, which is held downstairs at EAC. Opening act for February’s event will be Lauren Koss, singing and accompanying herself on her baritone ukulele.
The series began January 10 with diverse performances and an enthusiastic audience. “Our talented January musicians were Brandy and Ross Argir, Dan Cashore, Audrey Bradbury, Beth Goodliff and Rachel Bailey,” noted organizer, Alison Brennan. “Our spoken word people— Sam LaRusse, Valerie Lawson and Michael Brown—chose pieces from their own writings, stories and poems of their personal experiences which touched the hearts of the audience.”
The event boasts free admission; donations are gratefully accepted, and complimentary beverages and snacks are provided. All types of performances are welcome; maximum time slot is 10 minutes, but shorter acts are also acceptable. EAC will provide a small sound system, and all interested in performing can sign up upon arrival at the event, or in advance by email. EAC Open Mic nights are possible due to the generous sponsorship of local businesses. February sponsor is Eastport Family Pharmacy.
Please email Brennan at email@example.com if you have questions about your act or would like to sign up for a performance slot in advance. The concluding event in this series will be March 14.
