EAC’s Concert Series continues with pianist and composer Paul Sullivan on Friday, July 22 at 7 pm. Sullivan will engage audiences with a diverse program including many of his own compositions, old and new, as well as excursions into Debussy, Chopin and Art Tatum, interspersed with stories and comments about his music and life.
Paul Sullivan has enjoyed a richly varied and distinguished career as a composer and a pianist: as a soloist, with his trio, and as a member of the Paul Winter Consort. His 18 CDs have sold more than 300 thousand copies and have won 3 Indie Awards. He has worked extensively in the theater world as pianist and/or Music Director of several Broadway and Off-Broadway shows; in the dance world with Merce Cunningham, the Rockettes and the Pilobolus Dance Theater; and doing work for film. As a teacher, he has had a very happy three year stint as Music Teacher at Brooklin Maine Elementary, (which has an enrollment of 55 students from pre-school through 8th grade).
Concert Series performances will continue weekly through September 2; shows are primarily on Friday evenings, with one other Saturday exception. The full schedule may be viewed here.
Concert Series tickets are $15; attendees 17 and under are free of charge. EAC is handicapped-accessible and abides by State of Maine CDC COVID guidelines. Additionally, at this time, patrons are required to wear masks when in the EAC building.
