The 123rd annual Eastport area Christmas Bird Count will take place on Monday, December 26. If you watch birds at a bird feeder the Christmas Bird Count could use your help. If you can identify common birds like a Cardinal, Blue Jay, Black-capped Chickadee, or a Goldfinch, etc., you can participate in the oldest citizen science project in North America.
The Eastport Area Count Circle, which includes Eastport, Campobello, Deer Island, Perry, Sipayik, Lubec, and Trescott is in need of as many people from these areas who enjoy watching birds at their feeder.
If you are interested in helping out please email Philip Krajewski at email@example.com for details.
There are other count circles at other times in the immediate area so anyone within the readership of CulturePass could help out. This would include Calais/St. Stephen area, Machias area, Grand Manan, and Washington County. Please email Phil to find out how you can be of help.
