Sam Schuth, a Portland-based violinist, violist and teacher, will be featured on the EAC stage on Saturday, April 13 at 7 pm. Schuth’s solo program will include the "Partita for Violin No. 2 in D minor (Ciaccona)" by J. S. Bach and "Dissolve, O My Heart" by Missy Mazzoli. He will be joined by Portland colleagues Max Eddington, piano, and Kinnon Church, bass, for Haydn’s ‘Gypsy Trio’ ("Piano Trio in G major, Hob. XV/25)". The show will conclude with a performance by Schuth Faktori, the three-piece fiddle/pop/rock band which is an intermittent project which brings Sam together with his brothers, Henry (bass) and Frank (‘cello). Schuth will discuss his selections with the audience as well as his recollections of growing up in Eastport and frequently at the EAC. “The tone I want to go for is friendly, comfortable, but also a flair for the dramatic and showmanship with the music itself,” said Schuth. “While it's mostly classical, I want to engage the audience more than your typical recital, and let them feel relaxed, and then have a taste of some more popular music with the Schuth Faktori set.”
