Art Exhibition: A Healing Journey – Last Day to View
Fran Corriveau's art exhibit, "Healing Journey" showing of 36 oil paintings is at the Lubec Memorial Library through the month of September. These paintings are chronologically displayed to portray her adventure as she learned to paint.

“Piece By Piece 2018” Quilt Show
Enjoy viewing 200 quilts and quilted projects on display with a special exhibit of quilts by our youth, curated by member Patty Hagenaars. The Quilter’s Corner interactive room will have hourly demonstrations allowing visitors to ask questions and to learn about several piecing techniques. A number of activities for children is also planned. A new aspect to the show is “Meet the Quilter” where one of our members and her works are highlighted. Piece by Piece 2018’s Quilter will be Bonnie Brown Hunter of Pembroke Maine. At the close of the show, the winning ticket for raffle quilt "Scraps of the Past" will be drawn. Proceeds from this raffle support Ronald McDonald Charities in Maine and New Brunswick. Raffle Alley proceeds support our Hospice Lap Quilt Program. Admission by $5.00 US donation meets show expenses and supports future shows.

Opening Reception: The Work Before- Suzanne Hill
The Work Before is an exhibition of a series of works by prominent New Brunswick visual artist Suzanne Hill. Through observing the work and rehearsal of the Atlantic Ballet, Hill photographed, watched, and sketched dancers – their clothing, preparation for class, exercises and movements. the stretching and warming of bodies. The dancers rehearsed, worked and repeated, worked and repeated until their actions were “right”.

Book Series: “Maine Mountain Guide”
On Friday, September 28th, Downeast Lakes Land Trust is pleased to welcome author Carey Kish, as he presents his latest, updated version of the Maine Mountain Guide. The presentation will begin at 6 pm in the Grand Lake Stream School Building. The Maine Mountain Guide, published by the Appalachian Mountain Club, is the only comprehensive hiking guide to the mountain trails of Maine, an essential companion for outdoor enthusiasts since 1961. This newest edition was two years in the making and has been painstakingly revised, updated and expanded by author/editor Carey Kish, who will lead us on a journey of discovery from Acadia National Park to Aroostook County, Maine’s White Mountains to Washington County.
